I don't have any specific discard tubes, so when I do butterflies I end up grabbing 2 sodium citrate and using one as a discard and filling the other with the amount needed 🤷♀️that point, I know there's no additive cross over

If you disconnect the cream section at the bottom of the tubing connected to the needle it expels the air from the tube and then you don’t have to waste a bottle by using it for discarding. I noticed this when I have had to connect a vbg syringe to a butterfly needle. Less waste of tools and allows for perfect filling of the coat bottle and no rejection from the lab

Use a green needle instead of a butterfly, and then draw on a Serum tube then your citrate will fill up to the top 😁

i HATE staright needles. i can feel it scraping around in my veins. especially when taking multiple tubes worth of blood
