Beautiful! Just so you know Sun and UV rays reflect off water and sand and bounce back under the umbrella, so some sunglasses may help. Worst sunburn of my life I spent entirely under an umbrella

My aniridia boy refused to wear his sunglasses, and even his prescription glasses when he was young. He’s 5 now and happily wears his eye wear, uses his mobility cane, and had his first t-ball practice today ❤️

I’m sure you’ve already tried them- but there are “baby sun goggles” basically pool goggles but with eye protection built in! Babies can’t pull them off as easy and they don’t fall off in the water!

Just a tip for when she's older: I have irises, but they don't constrict properly, so I face a lot of the same challenges that folks with aniridia do. If she keeps hating glasses and goggles, they now make therapeutic tinted contact lenses that have been a game changer for me. They not only block UV, they also use a darkening tint to act essentially like sunglasses for the whole field of vision. That means no brilliant blinding flashes in your peripherals, no heavy glasses weighing on your nose and ears, and nothing to keep up with or avoid breaking as you go through your day. Probably not the best option until she's 8 - 10 or so, but man I would have just about killed for these as a kid, and I don't go anywhere without them now.

I’m sorry I just wanna ask. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to. I’m just genuinely curious about the condition. I’ve never heard of it so she doesn’t have iris’s. Does that mean she doesn’t have an eye color she just has pupils? I’m always looking to learn more and I’ve never heard of this condition before and I think you’re doing an amazing job of giving her the best life she can have.🥰🥰🥰🥰

When I was a kid I had to wear sunglasses (with a behind the head strap) in the ocean because I kept getting sunburns on the whites of my eyes from the sun reflecting off the ocean! We don’t realize how much the sun bounces back at us from water. Umbrella was a smart move!!

Not the same situation, but my daughter was born with bilateral cataracts. We are at high risk for her developing glaucoma in the future. Every moment they can be happy is precious. Sending good vibes to you and yours 💜

There's a baby carrier made for water. Helps you play in the ocean hands free so you can hold the umbrella and still splash without her slipping

My little boy has congenital glaucoma & I never see it talked about on social media. It definitely gets a little easier as they get older 🤍 sunglasses & hats are our life savers

when i was 6months i had glasses that strapped to me like goggles, maybe try keeping her hands active with toys when you put her sunnies on? sometimes just getting acclimated to wearing them can be weird so adding in some interests might help her sensory issues with the glasses🤔
