@adelxunlocked: The ones who loved stay quiet. They do not give long speeches. They do not cry loudly for attention. They do not try to prove anything. They stand slightly aside, staring into nothing, carrying something too heavy to explain. The priest once whispered: “Real pain hides itself. It is too heavy, too sacred, to be displayed.” The people who were only playing a role are often the loudest. “I loved him so much.” “We were inseparable.” “I don’t know how I’ll go on.” Their words come out perfectly. Almost rehearsed. And the priest would shake his head and say: “This is not grief. This is performance. They are not mourning the person. They are mourning the image they want others to believe.” Those who truly loved arrive early and leave last. They do not hover around the crowd. They do not explain themselves. They simply stay. Quietly. Stubbornly. As if standing near the body is the last act of love they are still allowed to give. The ones who played a role in life often try to erase their guilt at the funeral. They cry louder. Plan bigger gestures. Buy larger flowers. But real love never needed proof. It showed up in ordinary moments. In patience. In kindness. In presence. In the quiet ways people care. At funerals, real love is almost invisible. Deep. Silent. Wordless. The priest always said: “When someone screams about their love after death, it often means they whispered nothing during life.” 💬 Comment SILENT and I’ll send you more posts like this. 💾 Save this if it hit closer than expected. #truth #humannature #psychology #grief #selfreflection
I don’t think this is true. Everyone grieves differently

there is no one way to grieve. no one has the authority to give others instructions how to grieve.

My uncle who l loved and adored died last year, cousins turned up who hadn't seen him for years never went to see him knowing he had cancer, never phoned him, never once contacted him yet at the church they were the chief mourners, so strange.

I have to agree. When I lost my sister, the overwhelming feeling wasn't regret, but peace. I knew I had done everything humanly possible to help her and support her. While the loss was incredibly painful, there was comfort in knowing I had given all I could.

I disagree with this, I’ve lost my partner last year, I cried loudly , mourned loudly, then suddenly became quiet for few hours and cried again. It’s not a show, its not rehearse. My emotions were roller coaster. We all grieve differently,

I bawled, higged, sobbed - do not diminish my grief because I couldn’t contain it or hold myself together. My love poured out….it still does over 2 years later. Some grieve internally and some grieve outwardly. There is no “right” way

I cry the loudest during my dad’s funeral. Did that mean i didn’t actually love him? Can that priest be trusted

I believe a person should grieve without judgment, let it be loud, quite, distant, close..whatever helps

Absolutely untrue. I cried my heart out at my late brother's funeral and read a poem too. It depends on how each individual deals with a death, we all grieve differently.

Thank you for this, I lost both my parents and could not cry or speak at their funerals and I always felt bad about it but I was too overwhelmed with grief to speak or cry, I was in shock I think

This may be true for some people, but not for everyone. We all mourn, cope, and grieve in different ways. Some express their emotions openly, while others carry them quietly. There are those who process pain in silence, and there are moments when bottled-up emotions inevitably overflow.
Why assume that only silent people experience "real" emotions? Grief and coping are deeply personal experiences, and no single response is more valid than another. Everyone's emotional journey is different, and no one has the right to dictate how another person should feel, heal, or express their pain.

i disagree with this completely…gave a eulogy at my mom and dads funeral and they were my life. having somebody who didn’t know them at all say the last words is completely demeaning to their lives and legacy.

Most of this is true but I got up to give the eulogy at my dad’s funeral and was not “quiet”. I did it to share his best stories and show respect the last time that I could.

This is true for me.because after everything I’ve been through with my bestie,it is logical to cry at her funeral.tell me why I was just quiet staring at nothing and hiding among people.I just lost words and yh I ended up consoling people instead of them consoling me

Well…I agree with most of this except now I feel that no one else will bring up my father so I share photos and memories of him for myself to go back and see and for relatives to see. Not for attention but to help me cope. I do get the sentiment here because it’s how I was at my dads funeral and wake me up
