@jessicanturner: I was on a Disney Cruise for spring break with my three kids about three years after my divorce. To be able to take a trip like that was a wild privilege that I don’t take for granted. And yet, I found myself lying at the pool, teary and by myself. You can be on the best vacation, on a ship with 4,000 people, and still feel alone. Still feel the weight of your loss in your body. Still love your kids madly and long for the love of a partner. Two years later (almost to the day) I got back on the same ship and am now very different chapter. In love with a man who loves me deeply, cruising with our five kids, all who love each other too. Everything about my life now feels different, redeemed, exciting, and full of hope. I still can’t get over the beauty of redemption after divorce. I don’t know your story, but if it includes loss, grief and/or longing, I’m thinking of you today. And I hope my story is an encouragement to keep going.
