I have a UV umbrella that I used in LA or my big floppy Sun hat BUT now that I live in Paris the locals don’t use any of those things and I don’t want to stand out like a tourist because pickpocketers and scammers target tourist but my skin is definitely feeling the effects even with sunblock. 😭😭

I live in Maryland, and I do this pretty much every single sunny day. I always carry my umbrella with me. It’s a habit my mom basically drilled into me because of the insane Cuban sun when we lived there. But people give me very interesting looks here lol.

I started using sunscreen in my 20s unfortunately, in my country people don't use it even in the summer 💀 still, my skin started looking so much better! Never looked better before, I love it and will NEVER stop 💖 It's so hard to give up sugar tho :( I wonder if honey and fruit are as bad as pure sugar when it comes to collagen?

we run after the sun to get that D vitamins that the bones need. we want to be golden brown or many atleast but then I stoped because I started to see these dark brown spots popping up on my skin that I don't care anymore of the sun

I started using thick black parasols I got from the Ren Faire from May-October in LA 20yrs ago and the way I got starred at was wild like..it saves me from sweating a ton, and roasting! Cause I may be mixed race tan, but no amount of melanin will save me from LA sun! People dont realize how much sun destroys our skin

I think part of why a lot of Caucasians look... wrinkled, sun spots etc. it's because it was cool to tan in the 70's 80's and 90's. so Gen X and Bommers look like poop now. It was not a trend in Asia at that time. So it's cultural too.

Sun protection is very important because ultraviolet rays always attack all human races indiscriminately. People with lighter skin are more vulnerable to being attacked.

Yes AND Asian skin is thicker than white skin so it helps with aging 🤗 same for black folk plus they have extra melanin. Habits matter but so do genetics -
