the only game that doesn't work on Linux for me is serious sam the first encounter but even then it boots and is just stuck in a 128x128 square and even then its likely just my build issue

So wasn’t the topic emulation? None of these are emulation. Wine is a reimplementation of the windows API:s for Linux, Proton is the closest to emulation but is more or less just a framework translator, and virtualisation is just that…

L*nux is so “good” and “optimized” that users have to resort on running not-an-emulator emulator to use creative apps and run games.

Wine, Winboat etc etc. Is not always a Solution. Also why should i run a Windows VM (eg. Winboat) on Linux just to use something like Ableton Live. That makes no sense at all. I just dual boot and call it a day

my 3 programs I want when I switch are playnite, wallpaper engine and byte nexus. the playnite dev said he's working on it. WE has alternatives but not as good and BN because I bought a byte case and would prefer to use their software for the widgets but I know I could just do something like rainmeter. still I would love to be able to run these in the meantime. only thing I haven't tried yet is bottles. the others didn't work 🥲
