Mike: "El I loved you ever sience the day we found you in the woods." Ok then why did he tried to send El away and only get infos on Will from her? Its Catch 22, Mike can only be trully on love with El after the events of season 2 and 3 when he gets to know her and fell compassion towards her. Maybe he tried to convince himself that he was always in love and accually believed that after getting reassured by Will giving him that painting and lying it was from El. But in this case Mike finding out it wasn't from El should cause him to have a moment of doupt. Of course It didn't have to matter, Mike could have still love El without it begin love at first sign. It wasnt necesarry and in fact, It didn't even worked until he didn't say she's his superhero even without powers. If it would be logical then either he wouldn't say he loved her at first sign, Or he would have a momentary laps of judgment after finding out all Will lied and Mike was not begin El's source if strenght. In second case Mike using big brain of his would have figured out Will was having felling for him. But he would have still stayed with El. I doupt he would even confront Will about this, and this could have been a Perfect opportunity for Vecna to strike and break their friendship.

I think people sometimes forget that shipping Byler doesn’t mean that we don’t like El.. I personally LOVE El as a character but I just don’t feel like that relationship was healthy or beneficial for either of them…
