ypu can throttle with that valve especially if using deepwell or blackmere pumps to help maintain flow and psi when stripping out tanks or etc . ive used them at 5%open maintaining 105psi before no issues

in class the valve isn't suppose to throttle, in the field the valve is going to throttle whether it wants to or not

Gate valves are isolation valves. But valves are not used to direct flow they are used to control flow. And the most important valves are pressure relief valves. That’s the valves that will save you.
