@balancedmindsedu: It’s really easy right now to say:”Parents are the problem.” But I want to share something personal… I was the “easy” kid. The one who followed the rules, did my work, stayed out of trouble. But I also grew up with three brothers. Same house. Same parents. Same environment. And we were all completely different. One struggled in school and skipped classes. One was constantly in trouble. Same parents… very different outcomes. So no, not every struggling student is the result of “bad parenting.” That doesn’t mean parents don’t play a role. Of course they do. But most families are not intentionally making things harder. Sometimes they’re doing the best they can with what they have. And teachers? We’re carrying more than ever inside the classroom. 💛 The reason I keep coming back to this… is because if we stay busy blaming each other, we miss the bigger picture. We have the same goal: helping kids feel successful, supported, and able to learn. And that only happens when we start working together. Empathy matters. Grace matters. And honestly? So does using our voices to support and improve public education… together. Because our kids deserve better than systems that leave everyone feeling stuck. How can we better support each other? #TeacherLife #ParentTeacherPartnership #EducationMatters #SupportStudents #PublicEducation

America has been told for decades that by OECD that poverty is the cause of their educational problems. The response is always "what's the 2nd biggest reason?".
