I graduate in 3 days: I studied finance and completed the CFP education while in college, working full-time at a wealth mgmt firm, and full-time school. Deans list and everything. I got hired 6 months prior to graduating. It’s possible but you must be more creative than your competition!

Finance is evolving, so you just have to chose paths that evolve with it. Cybersecurity/fraud/risk, wealth management, financial ops, infrastructure, data and analytics, etc.

Finance is a tough market in general. You’re either going into some hometown corporate job where you start at 50 to 60k or you’re going into high finance where you’re starting base is 100k. High finance has always been coveted by all, but competition has also always been at its highest.

Honestly I’ve been thinking about this for a month and I finally decided if finance doesn’t work out I’m applying to go to law school and if that doesn’t work out then I’m going to apply to medical school or an AA program (getting pre med classes done at the same time as finance to make it easier if I do apply for medical school

so I'm a business Economics major. I have no interest in wealth management or wall street like jobs. I'm more inclined on doing FP&A at a company like Nike, Google. hell, even a beer company. I also am working on my minor in accounting. is this path worth it?
