@mmadrigallsresearch: That sudden adrenaline wave doesn’t always start in your mind. Sometimes your body fires first, and your brain tries to catch up after.#ehlersdanlos #pots #dysautonomia #adrenaline #nervoussystem
Acceptance was key for me. covid gave me pots. the adrenal dumping is terrible. bp, hr, palpatations ....i just remind myself this has happen before, im not dead...we're ok

I don’t know if this is it but a lot of times when I’m trying to fall asleep my heart will start skipping beats or palpitating for no reason that I can determine (no scary sound, etc)

I’ve started to notice this pattern in myself. I feel it “wave” over my body, then start to feel the panic side in my brain. What are some ways to “talk yourself through it” when you know it’s happening?

Yes 😭 this makes so much sense! I’ll have to try to remind myself it isn’t my mind not my body.

I thought I had severe anxiety and panic attacks for as long as I can remember. Then I seen Eds and researched for months. Learned about the adrenaline dumps. That is definitely what’s going on. I’m dreading the process of Dr.s to get diagnosed. Pretty sure my mom and youngest son have it too.

Apparently, I’m really bad with listening to my body. My husband always tells me when I’m having an asthma attack or a panic attack. I don’t usually know until it’s too late.

Like the comment before me…I can fall asleep about 4 times in the beginning of the night and be awake by unknown reasons. This takes only seconds to sometimes minutes. But my body will awake and I then I toss and turn until I repeat this cycle again and again.

What thing that I’m grateful about carrying these illnesses is the amount of self awareness I have developed. It sounds wrong but is right 👸🏻🙏🏼

I knew these symptoms were different than anxiety because I’ve had anxiety my whole life. The biggest problem was getting the drs to HEAR ME when I explained it. Once I had a diagnosis and treatment plan it became easier to identify the events and simply put my body into a place that allowed it to come down from the physical symptoms.

When I was young someone told me that feeling was my intuition and I was receiving messages from spirit that something was wrong with someone I had a strong personal connection with. And that someone was great at validating my intuition was right. Now in my late 40s I’m trying to reprogram that and discover my true intuition vs adrenaline dumps. It’s very dismantling to learn a perceived “gift”wasn’t what you thought it was. So now I tell myself it’s just adrenaline and cuddles one of my cats.

I get this, I do a quick inventory of everything going on, then I tell myself I’m fine and use logic to talk myself down.
