as a mama of 3 kidos! Girls, be selfish, live your life to fullest, enjoy every single moment, spend, buy, be careless even! i love my kids but my life is not mine anymore, i live, breath, and spend 24/7 for my children. Whoever is reading this, choose whatever you feel most fulfilled with. We only have one life, spend it however you want!

I always try to imagine what my older self is going to wish I had done when I was younger. Yes little children take up time, energy, and money. However, it’s only for a few years. Then bam your 50 or 60 and who is sitting around your Christmas dinner table? You and your grown children, maybe their spouses and kids? Or is it just you and your husband. Are you ok with the picture? I also have suffered recurrent miscarriages and I’m 30 and just now having my second baby. We started when I was 25. It’s taken all these years to have just my two earth side. I would’ve started sooner had I known it would be like this.

You don’t ever feel super ready you just have to have faith and do it and then you’re like “how did I live life without you??”

We waited until our late 30s and it was perfect - got to a point where life felt quieter and more kid ready. So thankful we waited.

The time to have them is when you want them so bad that you would be willing to stop your career to have them. I have not been able to figure out how to have both successful career and be a successful mom. I’m half-assing both on many days. I’m tired.

The thought fills me with dread so it's not for me. I just know in my soul that the lifestyle of parenthood is not for me. I'm the happiest auntie in the world tho😁

I never really wanted kids. But I also never didn’t want them. It just wasn’t a passion. I’m retired and there is not a day goes by that I wish I had kids. The biggest argument people with kids seem to have is that who’s gonna take care of you when you’re older or that one day you’ll regret it and nothing could be further from the truth. Most of my friends that don’t have kids are very happy they made that decision and live really full lives.

Realising that I didn’t actually have to have kids if I didn’t really want to changed my life. Happy to be married and living a lovely life without them!

I actually felt the same as you at 33. I loved my life having fun/being free. When I was around 35 I was ready for a lifestyle change and having a baby felt right. I had my first son at 36 and second at almost 38. Didn’t rush anything and it all worked out :)

I have never wanted kids, until last year (age 37) I grew a desire to be a parent. It was like a switch that went off in my head that changed my mind. Now I’m pregnant at age 38.

Wow this is me - I’m 33 married and still so undecided. Dying to know what it would look like but I think not knowing and being undecided is an answer in of itself. Anytime I haven’t been able to decide something I didn’t actually want it!

I know this is really morbid but I honestly think people should spend time really envisioning their golden years and eventually death bed. Personally I realized I couldn’t imagine the last 30 years of my life without having adult children who I got to enjoy being around. Others might not be able to imagine not spending their life working on accomplishing a goal or building something that would be difficult to achieve with kids. Both are valid! I absolutely love being a mom, but it is not for everyone. After envisioning the last 30 years of your life, if you don’t feel a pull toward having kids, then child free may be way to go- I think it’s way better to potentially regret not having kids than it is to regret having kids

Lots of people talk about regretting having children, and it’s not that you don’t love your baby - It’s the fact nobody can really tell you how it’ll be until you live it. Once you have a child, you no longer get to choose your own storyline. The best way to describe it I guess is the little decisions you make daily on your own are completely different and most of the time tiring with a child. It also hits you that there’s no turning back and it really is forever. My daughter is now 2 and I love her more than anything, biggest blessing. It’s just hard. Make sure you’re completely ready for a child. You loose the ability to live for just yourself.

Had our first at 30, it just felt right? I didn’t wanna be too old just knowing how risks go up, we financially were set, and honestly I just wanted to!! If you don’t want a kid with your entire being you probably shouldn’t because it’s an insane commitment- with that being said I would choose motherhood over and over again. Absolutely love it!
