If only 1.5 years planted, it would behoove you to knock the fruit off. Fruit trees take 2-4 years to establish. So at 1.5 yrs, that tree is not yet established. It's pouring energy into that fruit instead of it's roots. Knocking the fruit off now will lend to a healthier and longer lived tree in future.

We have a pear tree - old owners planted it…but don’t they need a male/female to pollinate? Maybe that’s why we have NOTHING.

Test the ground for nitrogen. Too much nitrogen makes the blossoms fall off. If you mulch with leaves you may be adding too much nitrogen

Had my pear tree for 2 years now. Bought another pear tree and two peach trees a couple months ago. This is the first time I’ve seen pears on my first tree.

I would love to get some fruit trees planted on our homestead. Do you plant in a specific area or just around the property? Any recommendations?
