Absolutely broke down sobbing to my husband last night about this specifically. I spent 12 years working to where I am and now I don’t want it. Unfortunately, I also can't quit or we will lose everything. I hate feeling stuck.

Turned 40 this year. Finally took my papa’s advice and got a simple job with a good paycheck and benefits. I turn it off at 5pm, don’t think about it off hours, and use my vacation time. I don’t care if I do this until I retire. It’s more important that I have time for my real life outside of these walls.

I just want financial freedom. I don’t care about being filthy rich. I just want to quit my day job, and enjoy my time here on earth.

1990 baby right here, turning 36 this year. Nothing matters more than peace, slow mornings, and time to yourself! I am still striving for that real luxury…

I’m 30. Worked my ass off in my 20s. Three college degrees. I decided I don’t want my career anymore, I just want to raise my babies. I resigned.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped chasing what looked successful and started choosing what feels meaningful. Time, peace, and the people I love will always matter more. I’ll still make money—just not at the cost of my life.

Can so relate. Worked so hard to get my 6-figure corporate gig. Lasted 6 years there and just quit a month ago. I hope anyone reading this knows you are never stuck. Choose yourself and a life you enjoy.

Yup me too, it's definitely a millennial thing 😅 and I love it, I absolutely love the idea of not working your entire life just to end up dead but instead being with family and friends enjoying every moment ❤️

Same 😅 I care more abt making mem'ries and living my life to the fullest because life is short and y.o.l.o. Remember what Avicii said: He said, ONE DAY YOU'LL LEAVE THIS WORLD BEHIND, SO LIVE A LIFE YOU WILL REMEMBER.

We feel this bc we were promised something that is unattainable. We watched our parents (some not all) have work life balance. Then the world came to a crashing disaster. Now we’ve watched our parents work (some) late into their lives just to potentially retire. Something I fear we will never be able to do. Our dream life we all watched ended in 2008 when the first market crash happened. Since then we have lived decades worth of historical moments. Not many of triumph, sadly many of tragedy. Go to college, get a good job, get married and have kids is a statement of history now present or future. Find a job, make decent money, survive and try to have fun while doing it.

This year I got everything I thought I wanted. Married. Got the house. Made 100k. Bought a Porsche. Realized I don’t care about any of it. I just want my time on my terms. I want peace. I want to disappear and raise a family

Too late, we have enough debt to keep us working for the rest of our lives. We just have to remind ourselves that no one is coming to save us and we’re indentured to billionaires and shareholders. The dark side of capitalism.
