imo 8th gen is garbage, interior and all. 9th gen is literally king in every single aspect. I also dont care about the si or hp. Im talking about just straight r18 or si k series reliability from the factory. 9th gen was the last good civic even with the base r18. 9th gen is top tier civic in all trims. looks, reliablity. and coming from a dealer tech that sees brand new type r's every year 2015 was the last civic I would ever buy. fk8 was peak type R though. fl5 is amazon stick on trash.

Looks are subjective, chassis and suspension architecture are the same, gear ratios are almost identical. The only argument 9 has over 8 is more torque from the factory. Call it "better" for only that reason. Same fkn car tho

L take intake vtec Honda also rushed to manufacture these and the front end will never compare to the jdm front end from a 8th gen but that’s my opinion I just think the platform is way more universal then a 9th gen although they do make power with bolt ons way easier
