I feel exactly the same. My husband always passed last March (3/21/25) and I also have been feeling guilty for getting through a day. I’m glad I’m not the only one. This Thursday would have been our 20 year anniversary…I’m struggling with that milestone vs last year when I was 6 weeks past his passing. I’m hoping it’s just cause I’m more aware this year than last year.

It’s all apart of grieving & healing. You have 2 precious little guys that help you get through each day.

Nicole, you will always feel this. You are on track to healing. Its a roller coaster. I worry, as you stated, that she will think, I’m not missing her. I feel the passed ones can see the love in our hearts we had for them. Your doing fine. But with all you said, yes, I’m in the same boat. ❤️

please, give yourself grace. I didn't know him, but I'd bet he wouldn't want you to feel guilty and he wouldn't want you to be so hard on yourself. It's perfectly fine and normal to have some normal times. it's ok!

Yes, I'm right there right now, I lost my hubby only 5 months ago and I feel everything you mentioned. I was at home, but he was in bed and I was downstairs, so I feel guilty for not being there with him in bed. I cry everyday, every night and I think of him all day long. I know I've a long way to go, but I miss him sooooooo much. 💔 😔 😢 😪 😞. I'm so sorry for your family, for your kids, we had a cat, no babies, so I know it's harder for you, but at least you have 2 beautiful reasons to get up every morning. If it wasn't for my family, I don't know what or where I would be right now. I send you my most sincere condolences ! 🙏

I think this is truly valid. It’s been 7 years since my daughter passed and I feel so guilty if I don’t cry everyday, but I think this is a normal thing in this shitty thing called grief.

15 months in and I have these same feelings and thoughts. I always wonder and think about the what if's and if I could have done something different. It is normal for the pain to ease with time. The memories of them will never go away but what I have been told is the pain becomes easier to bear. You are doing amazingly in this grief process. Definitely give yourself credit!

Yes, yes and yes. At 3 1/2 years, the feeling of guilt has almost disappeared. Don’t get me wrong, I have my moments, but it has faded quite a bit.

I feel like the outside world doesn’t understand that I think of my husband pretty much all day every day. I also wasn’t with my love when he died. I miss him. I’m so proud of where I am. Thanks for stating things that we all feel. ❤️3 years on 5-21

Wow this is deep. I think our processing happens in layers and it’s actually a sign of healing. All of them hard for our nervous system to process but hopefully lighter over time? So proud of you, friend. Keep building the mosaic. ❤️🙏🏻

Yes. I’m almost 9 months in and I’m feeling this. But then I picture the things again. And some days it’s lighter and lately it’s been heavy again. I completely understand all of your guilt.
