The quote actually originated on Twitter in 2021 from an Arabic writer named Karam Al-Asadi, who wrote: "People will love you, and they will say beautiful things about you, but only after you die." Over time, the internet translated it, rephrased it, and falsely attached Dostoevsky's name to it to give it more literary weight.
