To mention, Colombia is currently under a Level 3: Reconsider Travel advisory from the U.S. State Department due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, and kidnapping. While most of the country is at Level 3, several border regions and specific departments are designated as Level 4: Do Not Travel. The highest threat rating assigned to a country is Level 4: Do Not Travel. This level is reserved for destinations with a high likelihood of life-threatening risks, where the U.S. government may have very limited ability to provide emergency assistance
