IT DID EXACTLY THAT. At age 42, I was a lunch lady at a local elementary school, living in rent controlled housing feeding my children off of SNAP benefit. I knew I wanted better and that I could do better. Today, I own a 3 bedroom house on 1 acre on a country dirt road. I bought me a SUV and my 16 year old son a Jeep. I spend $800/mth in groceries without the help of SNAP. I have a 401k, savings and investments. Challenging myself to do this, no only was it scary because who am I to be responsible for helping to save someone's life, but it also carried its on level if discomfort. But I had to get comfortable with being uncomfortable if I ever wanted to live a life of comfortable. Today, I am a college graduate and a certified surgical technologist standing next to surgeons helping to save lives.

I’m 43 and I am graduating on Sunday with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. It took me 25 years to make it to this point in my life. At the age of 19 my mother was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I dropped out of college to take care of her. She passed away when I turned 21 and my brother was 8. He’s autistic and I am still his caregiver. I want to encourage people to never give up on what God placed inside of you to do🙏🏾♥️

5 years ago I left my husband of 20 + years at 41 years old. I had never lived on my own. I have not been more happy in my life. Never looking back. I’m so happy and at peace. Never believed I could do it. But I did!!! 🥰
