They don’t even compare, but that’s not to say that in the future Rivian will catch up to Teslas advanced software.

I am cheering for Rivian but they aren’t even in the ballpark with Tesla FSD. They do have the hardware capacity for updates as they do get better.

It’s simple Tesla is so advanced and there’s so many patents that all of these other companies have to find loopholes to develop a technology. That’s not copied through patent infringement. Otherwise they would just copy Tesla’s and put it on their cars. It would be illegal.

Rivian can usually keep you between the lines on a interstate. Just be careful on corners. Tesla will literally take you from point A to B.

If you’re deciding between the two, I test-drove a Rivian and have owned 4 Teslas. Tech-wise, Rivian isn’t close. However, I enjoyed the ride more than our 2024 Model Y. It needs to be said, the Rivian was twice the price of our Model Y.

Rivian is many many many years behind Tesla. They can’t catch up if they use LiDAR as they will have the continuous problems that you see daily with Waymo

Rivian- adaptive cruise control with lane keep Tesla- hands off adaptive cruise, lane keep, lane change, stops at stops signs/lights, merge, yield, parallel park- just put your destination.

I own a Tesla with FSD but on older HW3 computer. I am pro EV and hope other manufacturers continue advancing their technology. At the moment, Tesla is the clear leader.

No one is touching FSD. They are years ahead. I sold my Tesla and have a Lucid. Love the Lucid, it ain’t Tesla when it comes to self driving.

Tesla FSD is Point to Point and because of Tesla Vision, and how the car was trained, it understands what’s going on around it. It’s not lines of code like other cars.
