Looking back on the show, I realized their only reason to socialize with each other was because of Hannah. Likewise with Sosh. Had it not been for Jessa, she probably wouldn’t have had anything to do with Hannah or Marnie. This dynamic also held back Sosh from great opportunities. Their friend group was not all that great but I guess that also describes a-lot of people’s friend groups from their 20s. Friendships of convenience and proximity doesn’t always make for the best long term friendships. Maybe one or two real connections but that’s about it.
