how is it selfish to pick red when nobody forced people to pick blue

If the goal is self preservation, it’s obviously red. If the goal is minimizing harm period, it’s obviously blue

Filip Clavin :
> "Pressing red isn't selfish"
> "People pressing blue is not my problem"
I can understand pressing red to preserve yourself, but don't pretend like it isn't selfish

not a single reason to press blue

The fact that people are arguing about which is better is proof that blue is the correct choice

obviously the only moral choice is blue

this assumes the only payoff is survival, which is an antisocial view. in a situation like this, you would have a moral imperative to choose blue to save everyone.

If question was reworded so that blue said “if you press it you will die unless at least 50% press it” then no one would press blue. It’s the same premise as original question

I’m pressing blue because I know there are definitely other people pressing blue, people who aren’t selfish will choose blue.

Assuming everyone understands the rules before they press the button; why would someone press the blue button? The answer is to protect the other blue button pressers, but why are THEY pressing the blue button? And so on and so forth. There’s this weird paradoxical chain of unnecessarily helping each other that’s easily solved by pressing red in the first place

if one person in the world presses blue everyone has a moral obligation to press bleu as well.

I feel like the people who press red are similar to those who believe everyone is only in it for themselves. They believe everyone will press red so they must press red, but I believe that the world is more inclined to think of others, and that common selflessness will drive more votes toward blue. I would press blue.

The dominant strategy depends on the desired outcome, if the desired outcome is everyone lives than blue is statiscally dominant and it's not even a little close.

blue is the morally correct choice, red is the logically correct choice. Idk, it's one earth, we all supposed to be in this together

tell that to babies that pressed blue in random chance. it's impossible for 100% of people to press red.
red = 100% Means 100% don't die
blue 50% Means 100% don't die.

It’s just a question of empathy. If you care about others, you choose blue.

Guys it’s simple, red garanties your survival, blue contributes to EVERYONE’S survival. Both options are valid, pressing blue doesn’t make you dumb, it’s risking your life to save everyone.

Only reason to press blue is if you "want to save others", but then why would the first person press blue?
