@ashbysanford: As a first time mum who had no idea what to pack for hospital, I created a simple list to help you feel less overwhelmed when preparing for your baby’s arrival. I was not anticipating staying in the hospital for 5 days, so thankfully I packed slightly extra to cater for this unexpected stay. • Multiple nappies & wipes (hospitals may not provide many of these for you if any at all) • x 3 long sleeve/long legged onsies • x 2 plain white long sleeve no leg onsies • x 2 plain white short sleeve no leg onsies • Multiple sleep swaddles (possible x 4, I would recommend more than two due to leaks and explosions) • Socks, beanies & mittens (hospitals can be cold) • Changing pad, this was useful for changing nappies on the bed when I couldn’t get out of bed myself but wanted to be involved • Burp clothes!!!! • Going home outfit, a special one of course • Colostrum, of course this was my partners job to ensure this got to the hospital (be sure to label them) • Baby nail file and dummy/pacifier There truely isn’t anything more exciting and nerve racking than the anticipation of meeting your first baby, so I hope this list helps take away some of the guess work 🩵
