@chefisadorachai: Shop with Chef: Where to buy affordable end-grain wooden boards In my previous video on choosing wooden boards, one of the criteria was that the board is made from end-grain wood cuts. End-grain wooden cutting/ chopping boards are not widely available because it is harder to manufacture and thus, costs almost 5-10 times more than a similar-sized long grain wooden board. However, there are more affordable alternatives that you can guy from your Asian grocer/ Chinese grocery shop. These are the conventional round wooden boards that you can get as low as MYR30 for a 40 cm diameter chopping board. These circular boards are not aesthetically impressive, but are utilitarian and get the job done, while being gentler on your precious kitchen knives. You will also notice these wooden chopping blocks used in your local roast meat (chicken/ duck rice) hawker vendors – but theirs are concave because of the decades of chopping thousands of birds throughout the years. #isadorachai #wood #choppingboard #shopwithchef #endgrain
