@pocket.psychologist: Most people think confidence is something you either have or you don’t. It’s not. Confidence is not a personality trait. It’s a skill your brain builds through evidence. That means confidence usually comes after the action, not before it. Every time you do something slightly uncomfortable and survive it, your brain updates: “I can handle this.”
“I can do hard things.”
“I’m becoming that kind of person.” That’s how confidence grows. What actually builds confidence: • Do the thing before you feel ready
Readiness is a feeling. Action is a choice. • Watch your self-talk
Your brain is always listening to how you speak to yourself. • Collect evidence
Every small brave action is a deposit. Over time, belief builds. The feeling follows the doing.
Not the other way around. You are not “an unconfident person.”
You are someone who hasn’t practised confidence enough yet. And that is completely changeable. If you love practical psychology like this, my mini course goes deeper into confidence, habits, emotional wellbeing, boundaries, and the tools that actually create change. Link in bio for more details 🫶
