This is all great advice! Also, take a pack, even a Fanny pack on short/small hikes because you just never know when a short hike can turn into a long day or emergency.

The electrolytes is one I messed up on. Did 3 munros in winter conditions. Thought I was going to have to call mountain rescue at second one. I ended up eating a banana, I can’t even touch one, throw up at the smell but it was the only thing we had that had the right vitamins etc

I have like, 5 or so carabiners attached to my bag lol. and several electrolyte packs. and some candy for when I didn't eat my snacks and my sugar dropped too low and I needed a quick fix before forcing my healthy snacks... 🤣🤣

i always have a small amount of duct tape around my hiking stick in case of emergency, I once did half of a tour with my sole of my shoe being taped as it was loose
