I promise u if they did get back together but they had Debbie peg Nolan as punishment these same ppl would love it. its not actually about writing they just want Debbie to treat Nolan how they wish they could've treated their ex that they also got back together with.

This comes down to people not being able to put themselves in Nolan or Debbie’s position. From their perspectives everything they do/consider doing makes so much sense.

it's actually proven on the comics that they do get back together it's just less more of a emotional in depth with the comic the show is trying to show the more emotional depth and make the story a bit longer so I completely agree with you.

I spend 20 years teaching this man my customs, loved this man and had kids with him? She adopts Marks half brother? Id still have genuine feelings for him too ntm Mark probably told her he was set for execution for not following through on his mission even after all ts he did… its hard to let go of bonds fr when you are so intertwined wether its toxic or healthy thats a different story

as you pointed out, people are conflating whether they like her character with the character being ruined. but another aspect is that, especially in this universe, Debbie is meant to be the X factor that prevented Mark from becoming just another viltrumite. so there's a sense that her moral compass as a human must be very strong as a result. to be able to even forgive someone who murdered thousands of innocents is one thing. to allow yourself to get back into a relationship with them after knowing the facts is something else. all things considered Nolan is a highly manipulative ex who also happened to be a massive murderer. for a lot of fans, Debbie being capable of doing this u turn ruins the viewer's perception of said moral compass which is an important pillar of her character

Honestly i want them back together but realistically omni-man shouldnt get her back at all and shouldnt be forgiven for anything on earth, the worst thing he did to debbie specifically was call her a pet which is why i think she so easily gonna get back with him bcz a ton of ppl have that “they did hurt me tho” mentality.
