@puranaylogonkibaatein: Nida Fazli (1938-2016) was an eminent Indian poet, lyricist, and dialogue writer who became a vital bridge between Urdu and Hindi literature. Born in Delhi and raised in Gwalior, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in writing after his family migrated to Pakistan during Partition-a separation that deeply influenced his themes of humanism and universal brotherhood. His poetry is celebrated for its remarkable simplicity and its focus on the beauty of everyday life, often incorporating the "language of the bazaar" to reach the common person. He famously avoided complex Persian and Arabic metaphors, preferring instead to write about the struggles of the poor, the innocence of childhood, and the shared culture of South Asia. His collection Khoya Hua Sa Kuch earned him the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award, and he was also honored with the Padma Shri.
