To train most algorithms, you need to clean the data, remove outliers, and simplify the data as much as you can — and that removal of complexity, or what we can call the epistemological flattening of complexity, is an epistemic violence. B Because you assert violence through knowledge and the categorization of knowledge. You remove the real complexity of the world to create a make-believe world where ideology, power, and culture don't exist. But that yes, an algorithm can understand.
