I agree with all your vids friend. This is one i cant get behind. She isn’t relevant enough year round to be spending that for one night. Thats kardashian budgets

$23,000 is too much. She values her money.

I agree with you. People should not devalue beauty professionals. They provide an important service. But should beauty professionals over charge when they feel the client can afford to pay? I have no idea what the average price is for a red carpet stylist but $23,000 seems excessive. She also says “is this the new norm?” So it seems this price was higher than what she has paid in the past.

Naaaw I don’t think she is devaluing beauty professionals. I think she didn’t expect to have to pay that much for a single night because would any other random night cost this much for the same hair/beat? If not, that’s called price gauging. She’s not a Kardashian type celebrity so I feel her on this. That’s like places charging more for a wedding over a regular party for the same food.

i dont see it as devaluing their skill/profession, it's just not a necessity for her. my reason being she said she'd rather stay at home. it's not like she said she'd DIY or "find someone else". like, we understand the cost, but its not one i want to pay, i'd rather skip it entirely. sort of thing

She also might not have liked the end result and didn’t feel the price was worth that much 😬

And they made her look amazing. As soon as I saw her, I thought, wow-she looks so classy and high-end expensive. Definitely one of her best looks.

i don't see the point of this, you said at the end that if she doesn't want to pay $23k she should sit at home - which is exactly what she said she's going to do. if someone thinks vanity and beauty services are not worth a $23,000 investment then they are absolutely entitled to that opinion. $23k is insane for one event no matter how you contextualize it

Mind you she doesn’t have to get glammed up to walk a red carpet. Pamela Anderson wears little to no makeup on red carpets and it works for her.

Yes we can expect that celebs would pay more but she really doesn't have spend 23k for one night. It's ridiculous and she made the right choice. Halle Berry went to a red carpet event, styled herself and did her own makeup and looked gorgeous. Is that devaluing professionals or being financially savvy?

Not only that but she likely had a whole team of people working long hours waking up early and missing family time for an event. That costs money. Pay your people 💕

She can do it herself, Pick her own look, do her own makeup, hair, etc. Only those who think they don't have a sense of style, can't or don't want to do their own hair/makeup, or somebody convince them they must have a Stylist to walk the red carpet Also those beauty professionals make money from exposure off the celebrities using their services and wearing their clothes. So actually their price should account for that fact. I bet dollars these beauty/stylist aren't charging the "A" list celebrities anything because they know they can use that exposure to charge their "non-A list" clients. So no I disagree with the POV that beauty professionals are a make or break necessity. She don't need to sit at home. She just need to negotiate what services she will use and pay for; the rest do herself. She is not an "A-lister" so she will be one of their charge client.

If she wants top tier service, then she needs to pay top tier prices. Of course for us normies, it’s an absurd amount but a red carpet event is akin to the amount of work that goes into wedding day look so if you think about it that way, it makes sense that it costs that much.
