My dentist told me I could eat no sugar and brush 3x a day and probably still get cavities because I have “weak” teeth.

dental assistant here, cavities are preventable & the dr i work for has a “secret” to no cavities. only consume sugar at ur 3 main meals, this includes healthy sugars too (like fruit or milk) if it has even one gram of sugar save it to eat/drink at either breakfast lunch or dinner & keep it sugar free between meals. ur saliva needs time to do its job but if its constantly getting exposed to sugar multiple times a day it doesn’t have time to work so having sugar only at ur meals gives ur saliva the time to do its job between meals. so all in all the amount of sugar doesn’t matter when it comes to cavities, the frequency of sugar exposure is what counts. in between meals only drink water, plain coffee, or plain tea & for snacks plain nuts & veggies, hope this helps friend.

Crowns, veneers, whatever do not prevent you from getting cavities. If anything you have to keep up with your oral health even more (I’m not saying you don’t) because if you get a cavity under your crown you have to have it removed, cavity treated, and then a new crown which is costly.

My dentist says it’s because I “grind my teeth” when I sleep. Gave me huge dumb looking retainers. And I still can’t use it.

Nano Hydroxyapatite toothpaste in the morning to help remineralize your teeth this will help build the enamel and help with sensitivity. Fluoride toothpaste at night to help prevent cavities and a fluoride mouth wash. I am not certified at all, this is just something I have experienced and these are the changes I made. I also only use an electric toothbrush, ever since I switched to this I never had a cavity.

try a different dentist, some just want your money. you may not actually have that many cavities. I've had this happen before.

Veneers don’t address the root cause of why you get so many cavities. Saliva pH and bacteria present can heavily effect how often they develope. You have to find a dentist that will test your saliva to truly address the issue. 😁

I went thru the wringer with dentist! Make sure you're going to a private dental practice. I made the mistake of going to a chain (I didn't know at the time) and they said I had a whole mouth full of cavities and issues with my gums, went to a private practice to get a second opinion and she said I have the healthiest teeth she'd seen with no cavities or gum issues!

Try using a fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash. Also if you consume drinks that are acidic that can probably be why. Even if it’s sugar free it can still cause har’. Make sure to drink water after having anything that contains a lot of sugar such as eating candy.
