@c5news: Disney will have its television broadcast licences reviewed in the wake of Jimmy Kimmel making a joke about Melania Trump. Days before fires were shot at a press dinner the Trumps were at in Washington, the late-night TV host joked that the First Lady had the glow of an "expectant widow", a remark that led to the US President calling for him to be fired immediately. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is investigating Disney’s ABC stations for possible violations, including unlawful discrimination. The FCC order directs the company to file licence-renewal applications for all of its licensed TV stations within 30 days. Jimmy was taken off air in September 2025 after angering Trump with comments he made in the wake of the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
