My friend from LA left her passport in Dubrovnik back in 1987 !!! Three days later in Split, at my house, she realised itand started to panic. I calmed her down by saying we’d find it because nobody needed her passport anyway. I called the tourist agency in Dubrovnik she had visited that day, and once I explained what happened, they immediately told me the passport was at the café next door, where she’d left it on the table. She couldn't believe it. The next day, she took a bus to Dubrovnik and picked up her passport. Later, she wrote to me that it was the most memorable experience of her entire trip through Europe.
