@ssinvasives: Our work didn’t stop at removing invasive species, we also replanted the area with native species, too! Last weekend, we teamed up with the Squamish River Watershed Society and a group of dedicated volunteers to celebrate Earth Day and give back to nature. After clearing invasive burdock, English ivy, and holly around the third culvert on Spit Road, we planted native species like nootka rose and hardhack in the bare patches of soil there. Replanting native species helps improve the biodiversity that was lost when invasive species took over. Thank you (to all our volunteers), next! Want to get involved?
