Ran a one ton for a few years. had about half a tank of green diesel in my regular tank. Had a hundred gallon transfer tank for off road equipment with an extra fuel pump and ran it to the engine. I ran for years on red diesel, stopped and checked several times by DOT

Just tell them you put transmission fluid in it for lubricity issues and common rail fuel systems have issues with lack of lube in diesel fuel
