@flooded.for.progress: American Falls, Idaho was a booming Snake River town with hotels, banks, churches, and over 300 businesses and homes. In 1925, the Bureau of Reclamation told every resident to move or be flooded by the American Falls Dam. The entire town was physically relocated uphill on horse-drawn carts.
