I went to Abercrombie and only found clothing I can wear in the trip. Am I missing something?

I do this with food tours! They list all of the restaurants sometimes

one thing i’ve always done if i’m going to a specific city, is check google maps for the nicest hotels (ritz, fs, hyatt).. and then i’ll know that is where the safer part of the city will be for me (since i’m usually solo traveling).

Good tips. I've used the Hop On Hop Off map as a guide. Everything is layed out & you're guaranteed to be in the heart of everything. Then over lay the map with top hotels. I try to stay near a stop or mass transit. Then use Visit A City for an itinerary.

I did this with Kensington tours and reverse engineered one of their Spain trips - $25k with them, $8k for me to do the same trip just without private transfers 👌

If you want to go even cheaper, Viator usually lists the company operating the tour, so then you can go book direct with the tour operator 🤙🏼

I also look at “tours” and then reverse the locations on doing it on my own so that I am not following tours at the same time, game changer

I did this for a trip to Iceland (but with Exodus) and it worked so well 🤣 stayed in hotels nearby the ones they use and rented a car. It was magical 🤣 also going to Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan this autumn... soo I'll be checking out A&K

I do this too. So helpful. However, I’ve also used Kensington Tours 4 times and they are a fantastic company. 2 times I used them only for a portion of my trip and the other two were multi-country, 3 week safaris that were too complicated to plan alone. Would highly recommended doing a custom itinerary.

Used Tauck for Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand last month. Definitely 5 star accommodations, including Sofitel, Raffles, and Four Seasons. Fantastic idea to reverse engineer these high end tours. Going to do this for my next trip to Australia and New Zealand.

Yes. I used a Viking itinerary to plan a trip. Rick Steves is a great resource for Europe. Trip Advisor for reviews.
