@crimexpod: On May 13, 2015, a peaceful home in Sand Lake, Michigan became the setting of a chilling crime. A worried neighbor entered and discovered 46-year-old Martin Duram dead on the floor, shot multiple times. Nearby, his wife Glenna was found alive but critically injured from a gunshot wound to her head. What initially seemed like a violent intrusion soon raised deeper questions for investigators. Inside the house, authorities uncovered a handgun tucked beneath furniture along with handwritten notes that appeared to be suicide letters from Glenna. Relatives later revealed the couple had ongoing conflicts, largely fueled by financial strain linked to Glenna’s gambling habits. As evidence mounted—the notes, the gun’s unusual placement, and their troubled relationship—the narrative shifted from a possible break-in to suspicions of a staged crime. Then came an eerie twist. Days later, the couple’s African grey parrot, Bud, began repeating what sounded like a heated argument, followed by one haunting phrase: “Don’t f***ing shoot.” The bird echoed it in different tones, as though mimicking both voices involved. Martin’s family believed it captured his final moments. While the parrot’s words couldn’t be used in court, they added an unsettling layer to the case. Ultimately, prosecutors relied on forensic evidence, Glenna’s writings, and the couple’s history to build their case. In 2017, Glenna Duram was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. Though the parrot never testified, its chilling repetition became one of the most unforgettable elements—a haunting echo of what may have been Martin’s last plea. #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeReels #CrimeTok #CrimeStory #USCrime #UKCrime Source: @0ddcrimes
