Comments have no clue what they're talking about. I dont know a single person in my graduating class who went into a job writing c/c++. Not only is javascript simple, it's fun and powerful. It will also take you very far in life (learn react, react native, next js, backend, cloud services,etc.) All of these follow naturally after learning javascript

JavaScript is honestly just not a good first language, high level languages in general are not good to start with unless you are just learning the language to work on a project and don’t really plan to learn other languages because the transition from high to low is much harder especially because you don’t really understand memory as much when you work with a high level language

it is the opposite, you are smart so you mabe learn scratch/phitone to learn that you like programmong, (if you already know you like it you shoud not) after that the programming logic than c then class logic and c++ so now you can migrate to everything easly

I would say GO. JS is soooo deep. I started with js in the 90s and it has evolved way beyond frontend validation and UI in the 90s early 2000s.

These comments are tripping, he’s making a good point. You’re not gonna be writing a backend in C++, you’re not gonna be doing 3D rendering in Perl. JavaScript is just solid for learning what programming is interactively. You get the quickest example to see how a frontend and a backend interact with a user.

Imo first language doesnt really matter that much. Pick python, js, c++ whatever, just stick with it till you got the programming fundamentals down. From there just pick whats best for ur interests.

Computers understand 0s and 1s. Take a look at ASM, maybe the LC2 RISC version made for students by Patt and Patel. Then struggle learning C. Embedded S. won’t be a problem for you, you’ll understand logical and physical memory better, you’ll have full control since the very beginning. Handling memory is critical when studing OS and so many other subjects. Only after C, approach OOP with Java or C++ if you don’t fear anything. Only after mastering OOP in a verbose language, it is acceptable to learn Python and JS. That’s the only roadmap that goes botton up granting to struggle but not to leave any concept behind. IF U START WIRH PYTHON OR JS = LAZY ASF, you don’t wanna deep dive into the HW-SW eternal link.
