Nothing wrong itโs actually correct and you would get told to filter in on your test or as a ADI instructor, itโs safer also due to the length traffic in other lane otherwise youโd be sitting on a roundabout or junction way back causing a accident which would likely happen.

text book driving, using all the road to reduce the tailback. At least 18 other drivers could have done exactly this but chose not to. The irony is if 9 of them did it the queue would be halved and both lanes would be equal in length and no-one can 'push in' by using all of the open lane.
