I had my first at barnsley and they were awful with me didnt listen at all but that was 11 years ago i had my second 15 months ago at rotherham and they were amazing with me. I think everyone will have different experiences with different midwifes ect I think the newer midwifes have more patience (a student delivered mine she was amazing) its mainly midwifes that have been doing it a long time that are more abrupt I think 🤷♀️

I had my daughter at Rotherham Jan 2025. Brilliant experience throughout my birth wasn’t pressured into anything and to be honest I was only there 7:30am until 13:30 so not much time. I had a student midwife and she was outstanding!! Helped with a lot after birth such as breast feeding, shower, bathroom trips etc. My only concern was I called prior going in after having bad contractions and they wanted me to stay at home and was a little rude luckily I decided to go in rather than stay home and got there at 7:30 was 4cm dilated and gave birth at 09:15am so thankful I didn’t stay at home. Barnsley is supposed to be brilliant but if you get the feeling it’s better trust your instincts xx

My first baby was born at Jessops (never again 🫠) and my second was born at Rotherham hospital and my experience was really positive there ❤️

You shouldn’t feel bad if you felt the care was inadequate u have waited so long for this baby if the second hospital is better than u do what’s best for u and ur baby x

Rotherham is really bad I had all my kids at jessops personally can’t fault it but heard chesterfield is a gud one also

if your in Rotherham and close enough to bassetlaw hospital they are absolutely amazing ,my grandson was born there and its a small unit but I cant praise it enough.

Barnsley hospital was great I had my daughter there in 2023 ,I was in labour for 24 hours overall and they made it so comfortable for me ,I was so scared of tearing and something going wrong and they did everything in there power to help it go as smooth as possible ,she was born after 26ish hours at 8lb 4oz both of us perfectly safe 🫶🏻
