@allseatedinabarn6: I’m standing in front of two horses right now, and neither of them should look like this. One is a sweet sorrel mare. Her front feet are really bad. I’m fairly certain she’s dealing with rotation and founder… but until the vets confirm, that’s me going off what I’m seeing. What I do know is this— it’s not fair for her to be standing here like this. She needs to go to the vet. She needs x-rays. She needs real intervention, not another day of trying to hold herself up like nothing is wrong. The other is a medicine hat paint gelding. He is just as sweet. He reminds me so much of Hollis. He’s just… skin and bones. He is different. He doesn’t need the same level of emergency vet care—he needs food, consistency, and someone to actually bring him back the right way so his body can recover. I don’t know their full stories. You want to assume neglect. You want to be angry. But the truth is, sometimes it’s not that simple. Sometimes someone passed away. Sometimes someone got too old to keep up. Sometimes life just… stops for people, and the animals are left behind. What I do know is this— they’re standing in front of me right now, and they need help. One needs immediate veterinary care. One needs a real chance to gain weight and come back to life. I can’t do that without you.
