I started forward facing at 1 1/2 years old. His legs are unsafe being like that on the backseat. I understand you want the safest option but if an accident was to happen his legs are an issue.

Many ER nurses have stated that their biggest piece of advice is to read face the kids as long as you possibly can (still following the car seat guidelines ofc). I’m taking their word over anything else.
