@sadiebreann_: feels kinda silly posting this but I feel like someone out there may need this too #therapytok #angrymom #overwhelmedmom #relatable #nervoussystemhealing
Middle child…quiet…and viewed as “independent”. So I definitely relate. My toxic trait is definitely yelling/mom rage. But even when they hear me, they don’t listen 😮💨

I relate to you; I have watched and saved most of your videos. I used to feel ashamed for being angry with my kids, feeling guilty, and losing sleep over it. However, I have a question: when you changed your way of communicating with your kids, did they listen, or do they still wait until you yell at them?

I've never had these words for my experience of 30+ years. It DOES turn into anger, which will live under the surface of so many actions/choices when reacting to the world! sending good vibes in the work of unpacking it as a mom

I see you. I am you. I was you. I also have an amazing female therapist that has given me a safe place to come as I am and nudge me to see myself first. I struggled with all that you mentioned. It took me a year to finally make room for me. It’s been a painful but upward trajectory of self discovery, listening to my intuition and allowing myself to break out of a box I insisted on stuffing myself into, in all my relationships. To the point that the harder I tried to keep myself small, the sicker I physically became. After taking a good look at my patterns and behavior that contributed to not being heard along with learning to truly see me as worthy of love, I was finally able to set clear boundaries in all my relationships. It also meant that I had to let go of those relationships that no longer aligned with what I was willing to accept for myself. As for the mom rage, for me at least it was because I was trying to parent based on this idea of motherhood that was fed to me by society, religion, my own mother, etc. It wasn’t until I defined what I wanted that to look for myself and started modeling for my boys what I want them to accept the role of the mother should be, I am less triggered and more matter of fact. Natural age appropriate consequences. My job is to raise resilient, kind, emotionally intelligent humans with the ability to use critical thinking skills to empower them to make better choices for themselves. I am not raising boys that want a mother for a wife and perform from a place of male entitlement. I make sure I am a safe place for them to feel seen, heard and just be as they are. Excited to see where this new awareness takes you. Anger is where my journey began! ✨
