Moving to El Salvador was the best decision I ever made… but I don’t think it’s the right decision for everyone. One thing people do not always realize about moving to El Salvador, or really moving abroad anywhere, is that leaving your home country can also mean leaving your shared routines, inside jokes, and everyday closeness with the people you love. Sometimes friendships do not end with a fight or a big conversation. Sometimes life just keeps moving, and over time, people slowly drift apart. That part can feel lonely in a quiet way. But if you stay long enough, keep showing up, and put yourself out there, you really can meet your people again. And sometimes the friendships you build in this new chapter look different, move more slowly, and require more intention, but they are still real. One thing that happened to me was that people don't get my jokes, general speaking. I try to communicate but I get no reaction. Back in the USA was easier to get to know someone, people being more open minded. At least that's my own experience.

I totally understand your feelings. I had the chance to reside in NY for about a year. Every penny that I earned was to buy me a plane ticket to come to El Salvador even for 3 days... 😅

Hello @Carol 🇺🇸💙🇸🇻 You being the voice of a lot of people but this topic about friendship there is no friendship may be people connect with same or slightly different interests but at the end I learn the my journey there are no friendship I can count my friends with one hand and I still had doubts may be people try to find someone to talk to but it will be much like let see what you got that I need as you may see what the other person has that you like about ? In El Salvador people are good to be 2 face like here there is. No difference ov there could be a bit awkward one person can tell everyone in the Mercado about a situation you may told the other person and everyone will talk about you without you know
