I used a lot of these same tactics and even took it to another level by reaching out to the recruiter directly via email and expressing my interest in the position and why I’d be a great fit. I spent a total of 42 days unemployed and I’ve now been at my company 7 months and I’m thriving!

Based on your experience, when someone gets laid off or fired, should they update their LinkedIn by adding the end date of that job, or should they keep that position listed as ongoing until they find a new job? Because from what I understand, a profile that shows someone is currently employed seems much more attractive than one that shows they are unemployed. What would you suggest? Thank you.

Your story is absolutely incredible and gives me hope! I was laid off in 2023 and expecting it again in a couple weeks. Last time it took me 8 months to find a new job. I’d love to learn more about what you’re posting on LinkedIn - I automatically assume everything I’m reading is AI slop and I don’t want to do that.

I’ve been doing all of this and have been out of work for 2 years. Over 100 interviews and many in the 5th round. A lot of other factors go into getting hired fast in this market
