I busted my ass and somehow managed to actually buy a house. I have a very very small yard and my house is 105 years old. There's about 8 feet between my house and the neighbors. I paid $160k. Last year my annual raise gave me an extra $80 per month. My mortgage then went up $123 per month. I don't want much. I just want to stay ahead to maintain everything.

So, I agree with you, but at the same time, it is about to feel like entitlement, because within then next 3 to 5 years most screen based jobs will be able to be done by AI. So we’re complaining about jobs that won’t exist for very long. In a couple of years when we have no jobs, we might miss the old days of being able work until 8 at night.

Our water bill tripled and our power bill doubled in the last 2 years. Every time we have a little wiggle room someone raises rate and the bills go up.

All of the comments disagreeing.... Prices on everything went up whilst the pay didn't. It isn't entitled or crazy to want your job to not only to pay for the necessities you need to survive. And no, it hasn't always been that way

My work is “really passionate” about “work/life balance.” But I’m expected to work 45+ hours a week and major holidays and every other weekend, come in for emergencies, and respond to messages within 48 hours. It’s more like I’m balancing my life to accommodate my job.
