The pinch off tool also works great for heat pump system where you are unsure if it is the compressor or the SOV. If you are unsure you can pinch off the discharge line about 6 inches out and see if the compressor goes off on internal pressure relief or does it just continue to pump. it is damaging but either way you will be coming back to replace one of the components and fix it at that time.

I found the wing nuts insufficient to seal off. I replaced them with regular nuts to wrench down on them

I think one company made a few different brand names of those . My Bluepoint set were pretty similar . Doing double lap flares in automotive forgot to put the flare nut on more than once lol

vice grip tool, gotta be smarter than the tool. lotsa techs dont realize its best practice to get it clamped down and then turn the tensioner while its clamped onto the pipe/material....works great for me. i use one that TRUE sent me years ago in the R290 warranty repair kit.
