Your brain stores creatine in neurons and glial cells. Once those stores are full, extra creatine can’t cross the blood–brain barrier efficiently. The transporter (SLC6A8) saturates quickly. So even if you take 10–20 g: brain uptake doesn’t increase proportionally the transporter is already maxed the excess stays in the bloodstream and gets excreted. This is why higher doses don’t give more cognitive benefit.

Is creatine safe for kids that have adhd and what dose? I take creatine for the muscle loss with GLP1/GIP use for diabetes.

I just started concerta and it’s my first weekend on it and I’m having a harder time with initiation bc i have no anxiety, or shame, or guilt, or restlessness. I have a whole weekend chore routine I do and I haven’t done any of it 😭 I’m fine on workdays bc I already am doing stuff and can ride the momentum.

I do have GI issues (IBS) but my ADHD is so severe I'm at the end of my rope. do you recommend not taking it if you have GI issues or is it just something to be prepared for?
