in fairness to his dad, we dont know the finances behind the family and not once is a mother mentioned. im not making excuses on the dad's behalf but if he was really doing work those weekends then his priorities may very well have been keeping food on the table. Good on the other dad for being able to make time but sometimes that isnt possible
